Creative LUTs Pack (2019)
Six presets to choose from, the image is more contrasted, the saturation is variable depending on the preset but in the overall colors are less saturated except for those that need to pop, the white and black are corrected to look as they should, white and black, without any contamination of colors.
I tried to create a diversified choice of presets to choose from, some fit better than other depending on the light and mood of your film. They might looks similar each other but they are not, highlights, shadows, midtones, tone curves, and other details are altered to create a slightly different mood. I prefer to keep changes as light as I can, and keep the natural looking of the shot, also more you change and more high is the risk of falling in the dark side of color grading.
What is a LUT?
A LUT, or ‘Look Up Table‘, contains a set of numbers which are looked up by the software or hardware you are using in order to deliberately change the colors of an image.
A LUT can be used for technical purpose, for example to convert a LOG footage from a DSLR into a more common format, so the preview on the camera lcd will still look contrasted and colorful during the record of a LOG footage.
LUT is also used for creative purpose, to alter the image, saturation, contrast, hue level, and much more, to make your film look more cinematic or just better looking, if you don’t like the ‘cinematic’ word.
A LUT preset is a standard format, compatible with many editing applications with the ability to grade your footage, to say a few, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, Lightworks.

The black level is raised and also highlights are slightly raised.
How to use
To apply correctly the preset to your footage you need to import two cube files, and make the second override the effect of the first one. The presets have been renamed so you know what should come first and what should be loaded as second. The second cube file is a corrective preset that remove tint from white and black.
Before you buy
Keep in mind that applying a LUT is just a starting point, you will need to make some changes to your color profile after and always color correct your video (correct the white balance), before applying any color grading otherwise the result might be different.
The presets I made is far from being perfect, this is an attempt of mine to see how good is my work and see how far I can go with my passion, I am not a professional photographer or cinematographer, I do astrophotography since I was 18, and I started a more serious study of film making from 2016.
My plan is to update this pack during 2019 trying to improve it until I am happy with it. I will send a notification to anyone that made the purchase in case I make some changes to the pack.
